I am a scholar of American history and culture, and author of Runaway: Gregory Bateson, the Double Bind, and the Rise of Ecological Consciousness, (TheĀ  University of North Carolina Press, 2017). I am an American cultural and intellectual historian. In Fall 2015, I received my PhD in Humanities/History of Ideas from the University of Texas at Dallas in spring 2013. I teach courses in History and English at the University of North Texas-Dallas. I have a Masters in the Arts of Teaching from the School for International Training, Brattleboro, VT. I am contributing author to theĀ  Society for U.S. Intellectual History Blog.
